Getting from Sarajevo to Lake Bled

Me and my girlfriend are looking for the quickest (except air travel) way to get from Sarajevo to Lake Bled. From what I%26#39;ve read the best way to do it seems to be a train from Sarajevo to Zagreb, then from Zagreb to Ljublijana, and then on to Bled by bus. If anyone has any advice to offer then it would be much appreciated. Also, we plan to leave Sarajevo on a Sunday, do trains/buses to Zagreb operate on Sundays ?

I would suggest taking the bus to Zagreb instead of the train. Sounds like the bus leaves three times per day from Sarajevo to Zagreb.

Overnight train to Zagreb (stay alert!), Zagreb to Ljubljana by train, then for around twenty euros a day you can hire a car near the station. This was an amazing way to experience Slovenia and gave us loads more options than relying on public transport. A drive over the Vrsic Pass is a must, along with rafting and canyoning in Bovec. Hope this reaches you before your trip
