Dubrovnik?

Hi,

We will be in Sarajevo in August and wanted to plan a little beach trip (5 days at most). Is Dubrovnik too out of the way? How long does it take to get there by bus?

We%26#39;re also considering stopping over in Mostar -- is there a train to Mostar, and then another train/bus to Dubrovnik? How long would that take?

Another place we%26#39;re considering is Neum -- any thoughts?

Thanks :)

Princeza-

Def. go for Dubrovnik over Neum, in my opinion. Take a bus to Mostar, spend a day or so and than continue on to Dubrovnik. I would figure you%26#39;d spend at least 3-6hrs on the bus, so going to Mostar, break, than on to Dubrovnik will make for a nice little trip.

I am guessing on travel times, I have not done this in years, but Dubrovnik is worth your time.

Enjoy!

There is no train from Mostar to Dubrovnik. It would be a great idea to get to Mostar though. We spent a few hours there and it was a great place to spend an afternoon. We took a day trip from Dubrovnik and drove there via Medjugorje.

Dubrovnik, of course! It takes approx 4 hours by car from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik (approx 180 kms, but the traffic is slow). There is no train but I guess there are buses. I have never stopped in Neum, but I have passed %26quot;over%26quot; it many times: in fact the road runs higher over the hotels down on the beach. But it doesn%26#39;t look attactive at all, while you will love Dubrovnik. Regretfully, you are going to visit it in August, when it will be very crowdy. In my opinion Mostar is worth a few hours stop, but I would not stay longer than that: it is no longer so %26quot;authentic%26quot; as it was before the war, while Dubrovnik is again as nice as it used to be (even nicer!). In one day we drove back by car from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik and stopped over the afternoon in Mostar, but I do not know how long it takes by bus.

While Neum seems like a nice place, I would definitely say Dubrovnik over Neum. I am sure Neum would be a lot cheaper, but I truly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and charm of Dubrovnik.

Thank you all. Dubrovnik it is. We booked a room today :) We%26#39;ll probably take the bus, which seems to take 6 hours (or 8 if we do the overnight trip).
