Sarajevo in August

I am planning a trip to Sarajevo to coincide with the U16mens European Basketball Championships in August- I dont know the venue for this yet other than in Sarajevo - has anyone any ideas on accommodation and places to visit etc. I have heard that it can be very hot so some place with air.con. would be best. Thanks in advance

I can vouch for the Hotel Hecco. It%26#39;s nothing fancy, but was a fine hotel and I believe it was air conditioned. The location is a bit north of the Bascarsija (maybe a 5 minute walk), and I had a very pleasant stay there. As for things to do, definitely take some time to walk around the bascarsija, go to the Tunnel Museum just outside of town, try to see F.K. Sarajevo play soccer in the old Olympic stadium, maybe take some day trips outside the city. I think that’s a good start at least.
