Where to visit in Bosnia Herz. if I'm staying in Dubrovnik?

Hi everyone, I%26#39;ll be staying in Dubrovnik for a couple of days in June and as it is so close to Bosnia could anyone please recommend where I could visit? I can only get around by train, and I don%26#39;t want to travel too far, but I%26#39;d like to see a cool town maybe if I can.

Thanks guys!

You can%26#39;t travel by train from Dubrovnik since Dubrovnik doesn%26#39;t have trains. I would suggest that you take a but to Mostar- A great place for a day trip!

Get out of the makro-museumlike Dubrovnik as soon as possible (if you manage to pass the hundreds of %26quot;follow-me-guided-groups%26quot; in the main street!) Catch an early morning bus - or rent a car (the main roads are in good condition) - to Mostar, walk slowly across the famous old (reconstructed) bridge, spend 10 min. reflections on the small rock at the bridgehead with the inscription: %26quot;Don%26#39;t forget 1994%26quot;, have your lunch with Jasna and Sami at Motel %26amp; Restoran Kriva Krupilja. - Continue to Sarajevo (about 2 hrs), spend the night at the small and wonderful Hotel Ada (**) just at the edge of the Old town, enjoy Balcan%26#39;s best breakfast there the next morning. Cool towns? Maybe - but you will return to Dubrovnik with an unique experience!

Dubrovnik is very nice in an old-town-touristy way. I agree with the post that refers to getting a unique experience.

We%26#39;re just back from Croatia/Bosnia and by far the most memorable experiences were in Bosnia.

Visit Mostar by Bus...stay the night....

On to sarajevo and stay a few nights

Visit the gravesites.....Kovaci is most impressive and is the site of Izetbegovic%26#39;s grave and beside the new museum in his honour also visit the Tunnel and get an idea of what its like in a war.

Bosnia is also very cheap and the people are friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Muslibegovic in Mostar and Halvat in Sarajevo and travelled by bus taxi and tram.

stardusty, as you know by now no train is going to take you to or away from Dubrovnik.

So car rental or bus are the best options for you.

You say that you don`t want to travel too far, for that reason you will be able to visit south part of country that is called Hercegovina ( Bosna i Hercegovina is full name)

Mostar is great place to relax and explore since that is biggest city and cultural center of Hercegovina.

Instead of Mostar visit Međugorje 25 km southwest of Mostar and close to the border of Croatia, town is best known due to alleged apparitions of the Virgin Mary .

Another place that you should visit is Pocitelj, great little town.

If you would like to enjoy nature then Hutovo blato is location for you and only 5km from the city of Capljina.

Good luck and all the best.
