I am planning a tripto Sarajevo at the beginning of December. IS is still safe to travel. There are more and more report of political unrest., is it really getting worse? Any advice would be appreciated.

Although internal matters - the political, social and economic - are not great, the travelers who come to Sarajevo are safe, not less than in some other European places - for example in some cities of Spain, Greece, Italy etc.
So, come and have a nice journey!
