East Sarajevo

I belong to a club and need to step foot in the Republic of Srpska. I am going to be travelling from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo and will be staying at the Holiday Inn in Sarajevo. Will I cross into Srpska traveling from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo? If not, East Sarajevo is in Srpska...is there a bus or tram from the train station in Sarajevo to East Sarajevo? How far is it? Anything to see in East Sarajevo? Thanks....

My recollection is that you will not cross into the RS when traveling from Dubrovnik, assuming you use the main road. It has been awhile since I made that trip though.

You should be able to at least get a taxi to the RS. I do not know how much times have changed, but the driver may stop at the border. It should not be too hard to do, but you may have to ask a little.

There%26#39;s no border as such--though it%26#39;s obvious when you hit the RS because most (but not all) the signage is in Cyrillic.

There%26#39;s full freedom of movement, and you can get either a tram or a taxi to the Itochno (Serb) Sarajevo station for a reasonable price. Ask at your lodging for details (Recommended lodging: Halvat Guest House, Sarajevo).
